About the Chamber
In 1996, a small group of Argyle residents decided that Argyle, Texas needed a Chamber of Commerce to help develop their community and promote the Town of Argyle. After much discussion and planning, Articles of Incorporation were filed with the State of Texas on November 1, 1996, to form Argyle Chamber of Commerce, Inc. The organization has fluctuated in membership and activity over the years, depending upon the goals and commitment of the current Board of Directors. Today, the organization has evolved into a strong partnership of over 130 business owners and community residents and continues to grow daily with new members.
Argyle Chamber of Commerce members work in partnership together to support and encourage each other’s businesses and strive to welcome and promote quality economic growth in the area. Business leaders invite all residents to join the Argyle Chamber of Commerce to help shape the future of this town and enhance the quality of life in the greater Argyle area. As the Chamber of Commerce, Argyle Town Council, Argyle ISD, and the local residents join together to develop a stronger business climate, Argyle will benefit from a more unified community with a powerful public spirit.
The Argyle Chamber of Commerce operates primarily through dedicated volunteers who generously invest their time and money to improve their community. The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Chamber and meets regularly to discuss policy, finances, activities, and the overall responsibilities of the organization. The general membership meets for breakfast the 2nd Thursday of each month at the Denton Country Club for networking, guest speakers, and information regarding Chamber and community activities. The Chamber sponsors other networking, sponsorship, and fellowship opportunities throughout the year with a monthly “Lunch Bunch,” quarterly mixers, and Special Events like the Spring Fling: Tour of Homes & Mixer, Christmas with the Chamber, and the Argyle Bluegrass Festival. Membership dues and fundraising activities provide the operating capital for the Argyle Chamber of Commerce.
In September, 2006, the Chamber of Commerce hired its first employee to manage the office administrative duties and to improve communications within the membership, as well as the community. The Argyle Chamber of Commerce has become a hub of activity and a source of information for the entire community.
